Barbee Ruth's Gingerbread house
Well it took us two days to get the gingerbread house put together. Barbee Ruth liked putting the things on the roof.
I did this part of the house of course.

The most wonderful time of the year!
I love this time of year, decorating, baking and spending time with family. We had our first family Christmas gathering tonight and had a great time. When we got home I did some baking. I wish I could put smell to this post. I baked a ginger bread house and it smells wonderful. We will decorate it tomorrow. I'm sure Barbee Ruth will have a great time doing that. Enjoy the pictures I added of some of our decorations.

Family
We had a great thanksgiving and I hope that you all did also. Nicholas and Rickey cooked everything except the gravy and the cakes. (I did those two things) Nicholas even made home-made mayo for the deviled eggs. I enjoyed watching my men cook.
Nicholas informed me that I didn't know how to cook green beans. I have to admit they were really good and much better for you then the way I have always cooked them.
Bridgette got a special plate. Nicholas plated her food for her. Doesn't it look beautiful. You send a boy to culinary school and he thinks he knows everything.
This is the newest member of our family. Look close and you will see her, Laney. She is the cutest little thing.
We spent today decorating the house for Christmas. We got 3 of the 4 trees up today and most of the decorations. We even got Barbee Ruth's purple tree put up in her room. Pictures to come later of the trees. Barbee Ruth couldn't take any more, she got up in my chair and fell fast asleep.
Hope you have spent some time this weekend making memories, we did.
God Bless!

"Baby it's cold outside"
It was in the 20's this morning and Barbee Ruth had to wear her "big ole coat" as she calls it. We bought this coat for her to wear in China when we go to get Andrew but we are getting some good use out of it now. I love this picture because she has breakfast on her face. I'm a bad mama, we ate muffins in the car this morning on our way to Jennifer's house. Hope everyone is having a good week. Only two more days to go before the weekend. God Bless, Nancy

LID
We finally got our LID (log in date) for blessing number 2 from China. October 22, 2008. All the worrying I was doing for the past month was for nothing. Or maybe it was to make me lean on God more. All we have to do now is wait and pray that we will have a smooth transition and Andrew will stay healthy. Please join us in praying for him!! God is so good and I'm thankful!
Have a great weekend!!!! Nancy

PERFECT FALL DAY
We had a great day. The weather was perfect and the leaves were beautiful. We went to Star Fort National park today and walked around or should I say rolled around. Barbee Ruth and Rickey had a great time playing. We had a great time just being together. Hope everyone has a great weekend just being with family.

Disney
We had a great time at Disney World. It was a quick trip but lots of fun. This was Barbee Ruth's second trip to trick or treat with Mickey and Minnie. She got all excited when she saw Mickey and Minnie and blew them a kiss when we left them. Sorry it took so long to post these pictures but I just can't find the time to get it all done. I'm doing this as Barbee Ruth takes a bubble bath (it must be nice). Enjoy the pictures. And by the way Robin I don't think it was fair that a girl goes to Disney World and gets tagged. Maybe I will get to that tomorrow night after Spanish class. I hope everyone got out and voted today. Please pray for our nation.

Pumpkin Patch
We had a great day today! We went to the pumpkin patch with Bridgette and Lawson. We got to go on a hay ride, go through a bat cave, play and then saw some farm animals. BR liked the turkey the best. After all that fun we got to pick us out a pumpkin to take home. Enjoy some of the pictures from our perfect Fall day.

BYE-BYE NICK-NICK
We took Nicholas to Charleston this past weekend to get moved in to his apartment and get ready to start college. It was a wonderful weekend, but very sad. We left Saturday morning around 11am and off we went, when we got to Columbia we realized we forgot something. Nicholas' mattress. We continued on our way and said we would figure out what to do when we got to Charleston. We had to met the cable man at 2:00pm so we could not turn around. Nicholas called his best friend Nick and he brought the mattress to us. Thanks so much Nick! Barbee Ruth and Rickey came home Sunday evening and I came home this evening. Nobody told us how hard it was going to be letting them go.
Please pray for Nicholas as he begins the next chapter in his life. We are blessed to have him in our life and are very proud of the young man he has become.

MID AUTUMN MOON FESTIVAL
It is important for us to keep BR's Chinese culture in her life. We celebrated the mid autumn moon festival Saturday night with all our china buddies. ( We were missing one family) Of course we ate Chinese food, well some of us didn't. I don't care for the Chinese food so much.
Here are just a few pictures form the evening. After we ate we went outside to look for the moon but we never could find it. We had a great time and enjoyed being with each other.
God is so good to have blessed us with such special children. We are VERY thankful for each one of them!!!!

BIG DAY
Well yesterday was a big day for the Werts' family. First we took BR to get her FIRST official hair cut. Gina @ Salon 225 did it and BR was so good. She just sat there and let Gina cut it all over. Next we headed to Charleston (yes a three hour drive)to find Nicholas an apartment. Since he starts college on 10/6 it was about time. We found a one bedroom that is about 650 square feet. Now we have to figure out how to furnish it.
